TEFAF Maastricht 2025
In March 2025, Bibliotece de Arte visited the Netherlands. We enjoyed two days of viewing one of the most famous art fairs in Europe – TEFAF Maastricht.
The 2025 edition in Maastricht featured 273 exhibitors representing the entire spectrum of art history – from antiques and works of ancient art to contemporary art. The fair was divided into several sections: Antiques, Painting, Design, Jewellery, Modern & Contemporary Art – reflecting its centuries-old and multidisciplinary character. Among the most important themes of this edition was the strong presence of galleries specialising in older paintings and antiques, but also a growing emphasis on contemporary art, reflecting the evolution of the fair. Many large institutions and collectors attended – the fair is still considered a key event in the high-end art calendar. There is a rigorous selection of works and exhibitors, which emphasises the prestige of the event.
